What is skeleton tarantula?

The skeleton tarantula, scientifically known as Phlogiellus inermis, is a species of tarantula native to the Philippines. It gets its name from its unique appearance, with a pattern on its abdomen that resembles a skeleton.

These tarantulas are medium-sized with a leg span of about 4-5 inches. They have a dark brown or black body with white markings that give them their distinctive skeleton-like appearance. They are burrowing spiders and are typically found in forested areas, where they dig burrows to hide and hunt for prey.

Although the skeleton tarantula has venom like all other tarantulas, it is not considered dangerous to humans. They are generally docile and rarely bite unless provoked. They primarily feed on insects, small rodents, and other small invertebrates.

Skeleton tarantulas are popular among exotic pet enthusiasts due to their striking appearance and relatively low maintenance requirements. However, they require a well-ventilated enclosure with substrate for burrowing and a steady supply of water. It is important to provide them with a suitable environment to ensure their health and well-being.
